Breaking out of the Cobblers Shoes

Posted by admin on February 1, 2013

As an Essex Web Designer I often get asked to speak on business courses where I explain to businesses how to get the most out of their website and online marketing...but I always face the embarrassing confession of, "but please do as I say, don't do as I do!" From hereon, this will no longer be the case...

Since 2005 I have been working as an Essex based Web Designer in the UK since when I have researched and developed skills to enable me to (thankfully, gratefully) now be very busy looking after some great clients, taking care of their websites and online marketing. I also speak on business courses and provide training...and there's the rub; I spend my time explaining to others how to get the most out of their website and the do's and don'ts of successful online marketing but I'm not a shining example!

There's an old English saying, that you can tell a cobbler by his shoes; the meaning behind this is that a cobbler is so busy repairing other people's shoes, his (or hers) will be in a state of disrepair. The same could also be said of my website...until now!

This website is an example of correct and good practise; it is optimised to be found for people searching for Essex Web Designer. "Why???" I hear you cry...well, currently according to Google, there are on average 240 searches made each month in the UK (presumably in Essex) for Essex Web Designer, so over time, once I've used all the techniques I teach to others, I will start generating business from my website.

Even this blog is an example of good practise, and I will use this to provde you the reader with information that you can use to improve your own website and online marketing. Still lots to do to get my website right, so I'll be off now. Until the next time (Thank you for reading).
